2010 has been SUCH an amazing year!
It's been really fun to look back at all we've accomplished together as a family!
For this coming New Year, I was asked:
What do you hope to accomplish in 2011?
My answer...
BALANCE
Such a simple word, for such a complicated task, right!? ha!
I would really like to find a great balance between my work and family, friends, and well... life in general! :)
Sometimes I find myself slipping into a bit of a "work-mode-rut"... where all I can focus on is the "bottom line", or things that "need" to get done. And before I know it... a whole week has flown by, and I can hardly remember what day it is!
I hope I'm not alone here... lol.
I want to set "limits" for myself, to what I can REALISTICALLY handle, so that I'm not consumed by what I "think" needs to get done to feel accomplished, before I can relax or play!
This will require the practice of me having to say "no" more often...

(which I am NOT good at ... lol) but I think at the end of my days
I will feel much more complete, satisfied... and hopefully... Balanced!

I am so happy I found your blog! I just bought my first house and feel so overwhelmed with how to decorate it! I love your style, and I love how "simple" you make everything look...and that you show tutorials too. You are so awesome and very inspirational. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI love your plates on the wall.
What did you use to get them up?
I have a vaulted ceiling in my living room and have no idea how to decorate! Any tips?
Wow! What a year! It is amazing how much you have been able to accomplish in one year. I wish I could afford to re-decorate most of the rooms in my house. As it is, I will have to be content with the way it is for a few years even though it is outdated. I will definitely keep your blog on hand for future reference though. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteA year of inspiration...amazing!
ReplyDeleteHey, strange question...what font did you use for the words "NEW YEAR" on that last pic of your family? I would LOVE to know. It's darling!
Thanks a bazillion,

ReplyDeleteDear Shelley, I am in love with the color on the walls in your childrens' rooms. Are they both the same? Is it the Autumn Haze? I think your 'color palette' is the most awesome idea and when we build our house soon, do you mind if I just take what you've done and copy-cat like a redundant kitten? Okay, that is all...
ReplyDeleteI am a newer reader, so I am loving the review of everything since I didn't see it the first time - LOL. I love the girls bedrooms and the collage! My girls bedrooms are on my list for next year - these are great ideas - thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteOne question- on the "entryway table re-do"- the adorable bright pink wreath on the board that says "spring"- did you make that the same way you made the hanging balls? And if so, what size wreath did you use? Thanks so much!!
