Our Home Tour - Hallway and Main Bathroom

On our last home tour post, you saw the exterior and interior entryway of our home and how it made a huge transformation, so today, I thought we'd take you a little further inside and show you our hallway and main bathroom makeovers! Since our narrow hallway was a direct extension of our entryway, we wanted to make it feel like everything flowed well and appeared as large, bright and airy as possible.

Ribbon Towels Tutorial

So we've moved onto working in the girls's bathroom again.

We did some fun new wall treatments yesterday!  I'm so excited to show you guys... but first... I have to paint. blahh. Story of my liiiife...

A couple weeks back I was at Walmart and they had these plain white towels on sale for $2.00 each.

So I took a friends lead and decided to make some cute ribbon towels for the bathroom.

For someone who doesn't sew... these were Seeeew easy!

I'm sure that  Miss Shey B and V and Co. would be snorting with laughter right about now, at this tutorial that I'm about to throw down, but I'll be really honest... for a girl that just barely learned how to TURN ON the sewing machine about 3 months ago... even the SIMPLEST tutorials are a MUST... when it comes to sewing, anyway. :)

Sew here's to all the Simple Singer ladies... wa-uh, uh, oh, oh, uh-oh, ho-oh...

Thrift Store Towel Hanger Revamp

So a trip to DI (Deseret Industries) is a weekly event for me. I usually find at least one thing that I can't pass up for a dollar or so.  This last time I was there, I found this SUPER cute, but kinda banged up, door knob, wall hanger thing, for .50 cents....yes, that is what they are called

Anyway, I immediately had an idea, where I wanted to put it! The girls' bathroom!

So I went to work.

K, I'm seriously loving where this bathroom is headed!  I took a sample bucket of blue, that I had very first gotten from my kitchen, and dumped it in a little more then half-a-gallon of semi gloss white... and this is what happened!  I LOVE IT!

We are SO not done in here. But I just had to share, what I have been up to.

Priming a Girly Bathroom

Wow.... Let's first start off with the fact that bathrooms have to be the HARDEST place to paint EVER! All the little spaces and cutting...yeesh!

Secondly, almost EVERY TIME we paint and Cason is helping me, he always says... "You better love this color, because I'm NOT doing this again!" (he's not a huge fan of painting. ha!)

That sentence was all I could think about while I was priming this bathroom today... I actually started giggling...because he said those exact words to me, about a year and a half ago, when we decided to paint this bathroom yellow. ha!

Hence the reason that I think I'm going to be doing this "repainting bathroom project" solo.

Whew, the end of this week was crazy! Our house had to wait a few days, before it saw some attention again. Yesterday Cason started his new job! yay! And I'm gonna try to see if I can at least PRIME this yellow bathroom today! Pray for a LOOOONG nap for my girls today. lol.
