A Chat with Kelly Ripa, Comfort Food & Raising Money for OCRF

Kelly Ripa, Electrolux, Comfort food and Raising money for OCRF
Comfort Food. Everyone has one, right!? From Chicken pot pie to home made spaghetti with meatballs... there's just something about our favorite foods that make us happy!
Some of you may remember our NYC trip a while back where the girls and I team ed up with Miss Kelly to spread the word about OCRF (Ovarian Cancer Research Fund) with the "Tea Party Ready" campaign.

Fish Tacos

If you follow us on Twitter, then you know that Cason and I, are on a MUCH needed trip in Cabo San Lucas, this week!  It's one of our most FAVORITE vacation spots.  Not ONLY is it a fabulous way for us to spend time with each other, (without kiddos), but it also gives us a chance to reconnect and fall in love all over again, in a beautiful place.
We are FIRM believers in the idea that ALL couples should do this at LEAST once a year, to keep "in sync" with one another and rekindle that "spark!"

This photo is from our trip to Cabo, in 2009.
I'm excited to share some of the beautiful pictures that I've already been snapping, of this years vacation, when we get back!

Not only is Mexico one of our TOP "relaxation destinations"
but it's also home to our most favorite types of foods.
Chips, Salsa, Fresh corn tortillas, guacamole, tacos, carne asada... you name it!
If it's Fresh Mex, We don't just like it... we LOVE IT!
:)
So, in honor of our trip this week, I wanted to share with you a yummy Salmon Taco recipe that Cason and I tried out a few weeks back... when we were feeling "the itch" to leave on vacation... during a snowy day, at home. ha!

I'll be honest, I'm not a "fish eater" but after we made these babies... I think I'm jumpin' on board!  Thanks to the Our Best Bites cookbook, and a few additional online recipes, we had a killer dinner!
We wanted to share with you where we found everything, so hopefully you could give them a try too!

The BEST Buttermilk Banana Bread Recipe + Electrolux Oven Features

After promising my facebook peeps a few weeks ago...  I'm finally posting it.
The BEST banana bread recipe... um... EVER! :)
I'm pretty much a banana bread snob.  I can't STAND dry, flavorless banana bread!  So if you're the same way, then you'll LOVE this recipe.
Before you scroll down to the bottom of the post and find this "butter-licious" recipe, let me just say...

"NO.  This delicious, soft, addicting bread is NOT on your diet.
BUT...
Should you double the recipe, pretend you're going to give most of it away to friends and family, but then gobble down a few loaves yourself, because it's so amazing, that you can't stop eating it, ANYWAY?...... YES!"

lol

Okay, so a few weeks ago Aubrielle and I decided to get down to business with a huge batch of over-ripe bananas, while the twins were at school.  This little chick LOVES to help, anyway she can, so I enlisted her to be my "stir-er" and utensil holder.
:)
This recipe couldn't be easier.

Pineapple Teriyaki Pork with Soba Noodles

Who's ready for an easy, yummy dinner idea!?
:)

I think having my new Electrolux stove, is making me want to cook more.
I feel like, it's just "too cool" to have it sitting around doing nothing, like my other stove was.
ha!

This last week, I was in the mood for some oriental food, so I picked up this bottle of Pineapple and Sake Teriyaki marinade and Soba noodles, to hopefully create something, even CLOSE to what I was craving :)

Here's how it all came together:

New York City Trip 2011 & Electrolux Kelly Ripa Chari-Tea Event

I've been getting requests to hear more about our fun trip to NYC, so I thought I would share way too many pictures, from our adventures!
We were SO lucky to be able to spend a few days in the city, all thanks to Electrolux!
They took care of all of our reservations, and transportation to and from wherever we needed to be.
And it was BEYOND nice to have my Nammy with me, to help with my kiddos too.
Nammy = Nanny/Mommy (only the BEST kind of childcare around!)
:)

We started out bright and early on Wednesday Morning.
The girls were SO excited to go on a plane, again.
At this point I hadn't told them anything else, besides the fact that we were flying.
I don't know about YOUR kids, but mine would have asked me a TRILLION questions about the "Tea Party" if I would have said anything, sooner then a few hours before the actual event occurred. LOL
So, I decided to hold off.

After a 5 hour plane ride (thank goodness for TV's in planes) we arrived in the Big City!

I learned a few things very quickly:

OCRF, Electrolux, Kelly Ripa & House of Smiths ... Oh my!

{Our Adventures, in the City!}

If you follow us on FB or twitter, then you know that we've been getting ready for a trip to NYC, these past few days!
Well, after todays events, I'm so excited to finally share with you what we've been up to!
House of Smiths has teamed up with  Electrolux and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, to help spread awareness about ovarian cancer.
The OCRF's purpose, is to fund research to find a method of early detection and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer.
We all know, or have at least seen and heard about how amazing Miss Kelly and her Electrolux appliances are, right?
