I wanted to share with you our finished console table, in our living room.
I get TONS of questions about how this little cute table came to be, and what's on it... so I thought I'd break everything down.
First, this little table used to look like this...
My Dad had helped someone move, and they had this console table that they were going to take to the thrift store, and donate. I knew I could use it for storage and decorating, so I swiped it up lickity-split! :)
My Dad was nice enough to spray the entire piece white for me, with his spray gun, and then send it back, so that I could finish sanding it down, and adding a coat of clear, spray on poly to it.
After that was all done, I purchased some cute hardware at Hobby Lobby, and Anthropology, to kick this sideboard up a notch :) I also ran a timer behind the curtain, for the cute yellow lamps.
FYI: I always buy my hardware at Hobby Lobby, when it's 50% off, which is often :)

Speaking of the lamps, I got these two cheery yellow ones at Home Goods. They originally came with these funky navy, white and yellow floral shades. Really pretty, just not the look I was going for in here.
So I switched them out with some simple drum shades from Target.
Next, I gathered up some decor. The Decorative balls, finial, and old books are from various places. Mostly Tai Pan, Z-Gallery, thrift store, and Hobby Lobby. I picked up this really old pancake griddle, that everything is sitting on, from a consignment shop for about about $15.00. I thought it was just way too cool, not to have in our house somewhere.
Oh, and side note: it weighs about 50 pounds. ha!
I added some small baskets underneath the sideboard for extra storage, that I found for $8.00 each, from Down to Earth in Gardner Village, here in SLC. It was a great way to add some more of that "natural element" into the room and it ties in perfectly with our neutral jute kitchen rug as well, that is right in front of this console, on the other side.
I love this piece. It fits perfectly behind our couch, yet looks great from the kitchen as well, and serves as fabulous storage for napkins, table cloths, paper goods and more.
