Here's the little story of this cute headboard that my MIL got me for me.
We had ordered it about 3 months ago, and we THOUGHT we had ordered WHITE... uh...
as you can tell from this picture... against the WHITE wall...
It was NOT white. lol.
More like... that funny Cream-ish color.
Anyway... I was a little hesitant on painting a NEW piece of furniture... PINK... but after my post HERE and Centsational Girl's post HERE only a day or two later... I was totally inspired to get me some PAINTED FURNITURE!
I took some of my Swiss Pink, from Kwal Paint, and mixed in a little semi-gloss white.
It looked SO light going on... but after it dried, it darkened up quite a bit, so I was glad I added that extra white!
I didn't do ANY sanding! Just a light coat of primer. And then rolled on the pink with a non-textured small roller.
And I was TOTALLY thrilled with how flawless it turned out!
Ronda even came and saw it and asked me if I had Sprayed it! Niiiiice! :)
Here it is, after the Pink paint.
And with Pillows!
I love it!
It just adds a small pop of pink to the room, that I was looking for.
Moral of the story... don't be scared to paint something PINK!
:)
SIDE NOTE:
I've had a TON of people ask me where I get all the girls's bedding.
I get ALL of their bedding & mine (except for this bed skirt, that was from IKEA... and a couple of pillows I've made) from
They don't have online shopping, but they DO ship out!
The pink headboard looks so, so pretty against the white beadboard!! Good for you being brave and taking the plunge. :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Now I want to paint my guest room headboard a color. To POP!

ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteLuv the headboard. And thanks for the info on the quilt. I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really beautiful. I am so jealous of your ability to pull things together like that. My daughter's room is a disaster but you've inspired me to step up and change it! Thanks (again and again and again!)
ReplyDeletethat headboard rocks! thank you for all of the details on how you painted it! glad you are brave so you could inspire us!
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect shade of pink!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh..scary painting a brand new piece of furniture but I have to say that pink is fab! I love love love the Village Quilt Shop..they can get a little pricey but if you watch for sales, it's worth it. I purchased from them for my bedroom and the quality is really fantastic!
ReplyDeletePinks are so hard to make it come out the right shade, but that turned out great! Love it!
ReplyDeletevery cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, your girls are beautiful and I love your idea of a monthly photo session!
ReplyDeleteThe pink headboard is so cute...I would have done the same thing if I were you. All of Pottery Barn's "white" furniture is actually cream so this has happened to me before.
On another note, we finished BOTH of the framed mirrors in our bathrooms this weekend. I was too sick on Sunday and MOnday to take pics and post but I'm going to try tonight. You'll have to see how they turned out!
