Dumpster Diving

Dumpster dives with you... hauls the "treasure" away in her van swagger wagon, and then helps you place it strategically in your garage, so that it is hidden stored nicely away to not be seen by hubby, until it is needed.

I know... I'm a good friend.
What can I say :) jk
Should I be worried, that on our way to the dumpster... Ronda said I was the only person who she could think of... who wouldn't think SHE was crazy for diving into the dumpster for peoples old trash???
(She's right...does that make ME crazy too?)
lol

  2. yeah, I have a friend like that too! The door is an awesome find.
I don't mind going through garbage in other neighborhoods... currently there are some awesome wood pieces in my neighbors trash. I think I'll check it out after dark. ;)

  6. Girl you know I am all about the dumpster diving. I wish I could find a cute door like that. The other day the foreclosed home next to mine was being cleaned out. So of course I walked over there and asked what they do with the stuff. They said they just throw it away and I could have what I want. There was this entertainment center that needs some serious tlc but girl when it's done watch out. Now I just need to figure out where to put it. I think I am going to turn it into a bookshelf kind of thing.

  8. Found your blog a few weeks ago- now you're a daily check for me! My grandfather was the king of dumpster diving- everytime we would visit him he would have a new treasure to show us like a little pedal tractor or golf clubs! Dumper diving is in my blood! You're blog is so cute and full of great ideas- thanks for putting it out there!

  9. Amazing Door!! I am lucky to have a couple friends like that :D A few months back I was driving through and doubled back to pull a full set of white plantation shutters in perfect condition and not even dirty out of someones garbage can. I felt wierd but it was SO worth it (well, it will be as soon as I get the lightning bolt inspiration of where to use them!! LOL)

  10. For that door, I'd climb in after it too! I'd love to have a partner in crime. If you need a third wheel, I'm available! Camille :)

  11. This made me laugh out loud! I just "saved" two solid wood patio chairs (from the 70's) during our city wide cleanup week. I don't have a van or truck, so I hauled them home on my bike rack, one at a time!!!
I just told my husband that they were free, but not where they came from! And I wanted to hide them also, but they were too big!

Good for you to "recycle" stuff!

  13. That door is absolutely beautiful! I would've gladdy dived (dove/diven haha jk) into that dumpster for that. those doors are a hot commodity and don't usually come cheap let alone free in a dumpster! Good friend indeed!
