DIY Blogger House Q&A

A lot of you have had additional questions about the DIY Blogger House, so I thought I would do my best to address them, and also share a few more photos, for those of you who don't live locally and can't stop by to see it.

Dining Room Light Fixture:

This light was designed by Bryan Bush. He's a local artisan here in Utah and can be contacted through his website here at Politely Blunt Designs. While these custom lighting fixtures can be quite pricey, they sure do add a ton of personality to a space. To read about this space in more detail, head over to this post.

DIY Spice Packet Organizer and other Wooden Crates for your Space

Who's ready to get a little more organized!?
Today I wanted to share a quick tutorial with you, for these simple, antiqued (totally Pottery Barn lookin') storage crates that I made for the DIY Blogger house project.

When Daybreak contacted me a few months ago, and asked if I'd be a part of helping design/decorate the DIY Blogger house, the first thing I asked was... "What space would you like me to help with?" There was a long pause and then Aly (the coordinator) said..."Well, you ARE 'the pantry girl', sooooo..."
LOL! I guess there are weirder things to be known for right?
:)
In the end, as you might have read a few posts back, I ended up helping design the dining room and custom hutch as well, with Brian Clark. SO much fun!

DIY Blogger House Update

I seriously can't believe how FAST time is flying! Only about 60-ish days until our parade of homes house in Daybreak has to be finished and ready for judging... Ahhh!
If you're not sure why I'm freaking out, you can read the end of this post here, to get a better idea :)
As you can see from these pictures, Bangerter Homes is moving along just as quickly over at the homes site!

I had the opportunity to meet up with my fellow DIY bloggers, designer Brian Clark and the rest of the Daybreak crew for dinner a few weekends ago, to discuss the nitty gritty about the homes interior design plan. We went over color schemes and room assignments for everyone.

DIY Blogger House Announcement & Breathing Space Retreat

As I mentioned before, this past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Breathing Space Retreat at the oh-so-beautiful Daybreak Community, here in South Jordan Utah. Cason and I love EVERYTHING about this planned community. From the amazingly beautiful lake, to the walking trails and colorful homes... Daybreak has some serious eye-candy to offer.

The retreat this year was filled with fun hands-on workshops and classes. From cupcake decorating by The Sweet Tooth Fairy, to Style guidance from Becki at Whippy Cake and home decorating advice from award-winning designer Brian Clark.
