St. George Trip 2011

A few weekends ago we decided it was time to get away, and do some outdoor activities with the girls, now that they were out of school.  So we took the 4 hour drive, and head down to St. George for a long weekend and spent lots of time, just having FUN! :)  Here are some things we did...

This was our first trip with JUST our little family, and can I tell you that it was SO FUN... and also VERY hot
(if you can't tell from those little red faces, during our hike) ha!
Usually we're at the beck and call of other family members on trips, so it was nice to just explore, shop and pretty much do NOTHING, and everything... whenever we wanted!
We also had lots of time to chat and laugh with our kids.  I feel like we were able to make some really lasting memories.  I definitely recommend doing this with your families, if you haven't had the chance yet, this Summer.  There really IS something about spending that extra time with just your immediate family, "checking in" with one another, and taking some time to do a few fun things that your kids will love... that really strengthens that family bond.
 :)

  1. My mom and dad always took my sister and I on vacation every year. Just the four of us! We made some great memories that I will have with me forever. Now that I'm married, my husband and I are continuing the vacations, and I can't wait to spend them with kids. St. George looks like a beautiful and fun place to go! You have a beautiful family!

  8. Ay-men to that! Traditions are so important, but sometimes the old ones can influence you to the point that you never strike out on your own and create NEW traditions. (At least that is what we have encountered with our family.)
I am sure you guys have created lots of fab memories for your girls... and possibly a new family tradition. :)

  28. We were in St. George in February for tennis tournament. Rained the entire time! My son played at an outdoor park in the dark in 32 degree temps! Maybe tournament director will reschedule future tournaments for summer so we can get some hiking in between matches!!! xo, L
