How to Truncate Posts in Blogger: Tutorial

{Truncating/Compressing Posts on Blogger}

I had a TON of emails and a few comments after my last post, on HOW to actually "truncate" or compress posts on blogger.  A few other bloggers told me that it was possible, but I just figured it out, barely.
Some of you are fans, some... not so much.  Either way, it's simple and quick, so I thought I would share...Here's how you do it!

First, you write your post, in your post body like so.

Then you put your cursor where you want your page break to be, and you click the little icon above, that looks like a ripped piece of paper.

It will come up with an image that looks like a dotted line, where you put the cursor.

If you preview your post, you WILL NOT SEE the post truncated.

But once you PUBLISH the post, it will have text like this:

This is the link that your readers will click on, to take them to the ENTIRE post, so that they can read the whole thing.

You can also change what the text says, that will redirect your readers.  Here's how you do it:

Go to your dashboard and click on your design... so this page comes up.

then click on the BLOG POST EDIT button, like this...

Once you click on that, this window will pop up, and you can change your text, here:

That's it!  Super easy.
Take it or Leave it.  ha! :)

 

Also, I've noticed a lot of  "NO-REPLY" comments coming in from readers again, lately.

Have you fixed that, so that the bloggers who's blogs you comment on, can comment BACK to you???
