We are SOOOO excited to finally get moving again on our master bathroom.
What are we working on now?
Our Vanity!
Here is a before:
I was posting on Facebook earlier, that I have just finished the 3rd coat of primer, and am waiting for it to dry, so I can do another light sanding, before applying the high-gloss white paint, to the vanity's face front.
Eek! I'm so nervous for the actual "white paint" part! Mostly because this is kind of a permanent fixure in our bathroom... that we CAN'T afford to replace, if I mess up. LOL.
Wheres Kate when you need her!?
I guess it IS only paint... but still. I want it to look great the FIRST time... ya know?
wish me luck!
As you can see, we've Cason has taken off the Formica counter top and the sink, so that I could paint the vanity easier. I wasn't home when Cason decided to demolish the bathroom, so I don't have any photos, but you get the idea :)
Even though our house is only 4 years old, our counter top, in this bathroom has always had issues! It was like it had never been glued down properly, and it had bubbles in it everywhere. We kept trying to fix it... but no luck.
So now that we needed a new counter top... we weren't going to settle for "Finicky-Formica"...
we wanted something a bit nicer!
Hence the reason that we've been bustin' a move on refinishing our vanity...beeecauuuse....
Our new granite counter top is set to arrive sometime this week, from Granite City!!!!
Whoo hoo!
We did a LOT of hunting around, for the perfect, affordable counter top. And much to our surprise... Granite is NOT cheap! ha! SO we were glad when we found Doug at Granite City in SLC, because he had a remnant yard, FULL of discounted stone "leftovers", that were perfect for this small project.
Cason and I had some small arguments "heavy discussions" about what color and style to go with... but we finally came to an agreement. I can't wait to show you what we chose!
I have to be honest. If we were taking points, on who got their way MORE, during our counter top selection discussion...Well, Cason would definitely come in first. So needless to say, I'm a bit anxious to see what our counter top looks like, in our space. We'll see if Cason's "design skillz" are up-to-par. ha!
Okay... MUST get back to work!
Hope everyone is having a fabulously productive day too!
PS. Oh! And don't worry your pretty lil' heads... if everything works out as planned, I'll do a full tutorial on how I painted the vanity. I've been taking lots of pictures along the way. :)
PPS. And if everything goes south?... then I'll have a ton of pictures, and a messed up vanity that I won't speak of anymore.
ha!
Rock on! I am sooo down with projects. I need base boards! May use the cheeting base boards to make em' look bigger like you did in the kitchen. Good luck.
