Dry Erase Vinyl Message Board

I'm so excited to share with you a great new product that I just found, and fell in LOVE with!
DRY ERASE VINYL!
I had seen chalkboard vinyl, but not dry erase vinyl!!! :)

I knew I wanted to create a message center with the decal that I printed out, so this is how I did it.

I started with this rectangular board that I got from The Wood Connection, here in Utah.  It came with the edges routered and two holes at the top, already done.

I painted the board white first, with Semi-Gloss paint...

Then I painted it with my Crystal Aqua color, from Valspar.
Then sanded the whole thing, lightly, to bring through the white a bit.

Next, I took my dry erase decal off it's backing paper... And centered it on my board.
I didn't use transfer paper for this project, because it made the thick dry erase material, actually a bit harder to apply.  It was easier, to just peal the large piece off, and place it where I needed it :)

I also added this MESSAGE vinyl decal to the top, in dark gray.
And for those of you who want to print your own, on your Silhouette, or make a stencil, for your board, the font name I used for "MESSAGE" is called COFFEE TIN.
You can download it HERE

Then I added a piece of white and dark gray fabric, to hang it up!

I used a Velcro strip on the wall, to hang up the dry erase markers, next to the message center.

I think I'm going to put this outside, by our front door, once it warms up a bit more, so that people who visit can leave messages if we're not home!

.  .  .

Here are some ideas for where you can use your dry erase decal:

- Hang it straight on the wall or a refrigerator
- On a board, for a custom message center
- Inside a cupboard, to keep track of medication doses and times
- On a dorm or bedroom door, or inside a school locker
- By a front or back door, to jot down items you don't want to forget!

  11. You are so dang creative!!! I have a question for you- I am considering a white sofa and want to get a real person's opinion. Are you able to keep it clean and is it a pain to keep the slipcover looking nice (ie. wrinkles). I really like the Ikea Ektorp sofa in white. Of course PB would be nice but too much money. Thanks!
