Thanks to American Express for sponsoring my writing today about small businesses. American Express is presenting Small Business Saturday, a way to honor the local merchants who are the backbone of the economy, this Saturday, November 27. They're offering statement credits to people who shop at small businesses, advertising for small-business owners, and donations to Girls Inc. for "Likes" of the Small Business Saturday page on Facebook. Join the celebration by clicking the "Like" button and then visiting the Facebook page to learn more about the program and read the terms and conditions that apply.
Have you heard about the first ever, Small Business Saturday!?I love this idea!
"Dedicated to encouraging people to do their holiday shopping
with small local merchants vs. large commercial businesses"
Being a small business myself, I know exactly what the "little guy" has to go through. All the time and effort that it takes to succeed!
But I ALSO know how much their customers love and appreciate quality, service, and the cultivated relationships, that come along with being "a small business."
So, I thought I'd tell you about a local, small businesses that I just adore, here in Salt Lake. I've talked about it before, but here's a little recap about why I love it :)
Emilie Jayne Consignment
This amazingly adorable shop is located in Salt Lake City at 800S and 800E.
If you've never "done" consignment shopping, then this is the place to start!
There is something to "Ooo, and Ahh" about, around every corner!
The prices are unbeatable, and they have new product in, EVERY time I go! That's the best part about consignment stores! They are always filled to the brim with unique, one-of-a-kind, eclectic decor, dishes, lighting and more!
I guess that's also the reason they have become so popular.
The rule at almost any good consignment store is:
If you see something you MUST have...then you BETTER swipe it up, quick! lol
... because it will DEFINITELY be gone, by the time you come back around to it again. ha!
Do you have a favorite store like this? A place that just feels homey, quaint, and special to you?
A place you love and look forward to visiting?
If you do... then make it a priority to shop "small" when you're out this holiday!
These small business are chuck full of fun Christmas gift ideas for lots of people on your shopping list :)

Will visit Tutoring Toy in foothill village this Saturday to pick up some Playmobile items on my list. They are so friendly up there I love to buy from them when I can.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, how have I not run into you yet? I LOVE this place!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, emiliejayne is the GREATEST store. I worked there as soon as they opened and stayed for five years. I did a little write up of my own a while ago. They really get the best stuff, and the prices are so dang good.
ReplyDeleteLooks like an absolutely fabulous place to shop. wish it were closer. I have a few similar places though that I love to visit in Abilene and Wichita Falls.

I love that store! I've picked up a lot of stuff from there over the years.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE! Love, love Emily Jayne. They do have the best stuff and the people there are so friendly. Totally worth stopping by. The last time I was there I had to leave my wallet in the car because otherwise I would have walked out with an empty bank account.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
