ME Replying to YOUR Comments:
How to make sure I can send you BACK some LOVE!!!
Okay, I have been meaning to post this for EVER, and tonight is the night, because I'm OVER it!
I want to CHAT with you ladies, and reply to your fun comments, but I can't!
I moderate all my comments, and when they come to my inbox I push "reply" on them to comment back, and if you don't have your email address registered properly in blogger... then I just get this!
Want to know how to guarantee a reply from me for EVERY comment you leave?
Follow these easy steps!
First... go to your blogger dashboard,
like so, and click on "edit profile"
Then all you have to do is make sure that this little box,
that says "show my email address" is checked...
Then scroll down and press "save profile'
And that's it!!!!
You're done! Now when you take your time to leave a comment, you can KNOW that I will respond!
This would make my day if you all did this :)
Comments are fabulous, but if I can't actually 'converse' with my amazing readers, then what's the point, eh?
:)
Please take a minute to do this tonight! It's SO easy!
Can't wait to talk with more of you soon!
Seriously - so glad you wrote this up! This drives me batty too! And it's easy to set up a blog only email if you don't want to share your personal address for all to see. Thanks for this post!
ReplyDeleteI just did that! Awesome! Thanks for the tidbit! PS: I've been thinking about you and that mold, girl. Hang in there! Erin at www.inbetweenlaundry.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLOL i think mines working!
ReplyDeleteYay!! You figured it out!
ReplyDeleteI'll be the first one for you to try it on! :) I am ready for a blog makeover - do you design your own blog or do you have someone else do it? If you have someone else do it, could you share their information???
ReplyDeleteThis is me bowing down to kiss your feet!!! lol I have been working on my blog trying to fix all the parts, there are so many and I am never sure what I have actually fixed. Now can you tell me how I can have my comment box open like your is without clicking on anything??? By the way I know you are redoing your bathroom, go check out the bathroom I just decorated... it wasn't mine, oh how I wish!
ReplyDeleteAnd can I link this on my blog, I don't like when I can't get back in touch with peeps either?
ReplyDeleteI totally did this just for you!!!
ReplyDeleteok I fixed mine!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever actually commented on your blog, but just in case I changed my settings :)
ReplyDelete(I love reading your blog by the way... I'm a major lurker ;) )
Hi! I cam over from Honey We're Home and I'm so glad you posted this! I hate when I can't just reply to my readers. I'm your latest follower. ;-)
ReplyDeleteabby
Yeah, I did it and it was easy. Thanks for the info. Of course I want to hear from you. I consider you my new best friend. Good luck with your mold situation and I pray it is an easy fix!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tutorial! As a newbie at this blogging thing, I LOVE all the tutorials I can find -especially the easy to follow ones with pictures!:) And on another note... I LOVE the colors you've chosen in your home. I'm going through "paint swatch agony" right now. Too bad you didn't live in my Canadian neighborhood!:)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I didn't know how to do that, and I didn't realize that MY responses were showing up as a no-reply everywhere. Which makes me feel sheepish, because that same thing makes me crazy on my own blogs. :) Do you mind if I repost there? (tomiannie.blogspot.com and beingperfectlyhonest.blogspot.com)
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog yesterday and it is so much fun! Thank you for your spunk. It's contagious.
ReplyDeleteOMG I'm so embarassed that I didn't know this! I had no idea that my email wasn't showing up. Thank you so much for teaching me how!
ReplyDeleteI totally hate when I try to reply to someone and can't do it because they don't have their email attached to their profile! I sometime search their blog to see if they have it listed there but sometimes have no luck. I hate having to respond to them on a random post of theirs but saying nothing at all feels rude. But sometimes that is what I do.
ReplyDeleteCan I copy this post to my blog? This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine!! That a comment word verification - oh my gosh, get that thing OFF!
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog, and you are FANTASTIC! I love, love, love all of your ideas. And I love it even more that you do things on a budget! I watch HGtv all the time and when they say "tight budget" they are not speaking my language :) Anyway, so happy I found you!!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope a lot of my readers are seeing this post! :)
ReplyDeleteyou are so good at replying back too! :)
ReplyDeleteYou rock! I left a comment like a month ago or something and you wrote back! It seriously made my day! Ever since I've been doing the same thing with my comments! I think it is such a great idea! :)
ReplyDeleteI found your blog yesterday, and I love it! Everything is either GENIUS or Hilarious! I've found lots of cute ideas, I cant wait to copy! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the tutorial! I just did it (I didn't even know that my e-mail was not showing)
ReplyDeleteI feel bad....I always thought I had set this up already! Bad, bad me!
ReplyDeleteThank you for pointing this out!
Thanks for this. I'm still getting familiar with the way Blogger works.
ReplyDeleteOk! Changed my profile and I'm now trying again to ask if you would care to reveal the secret of the font you used for the Simplify sign. *lol*
ReplyDeleteClaudia
Great tip! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI already have it for a long time now and indeed love it. That and the word verification as well were huge pet peeves of mine too gggrrrr.
ReplyDeleteI had NO idea! Thanks...now we can be "friends" again! :)
ReplyDeleteI had just assumed that I'd select the "Show E-Mail" option when I set up my blog. Turns out, I didn't! Thanks for the tip :-)
ReplyDeletethx :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this!! I got a snarky comment the other day about being a "no reply" commenter. I had NO idea what they were even talking about, glad you saved me from further abuse! :)
ReplyDeleteFixed it!!! Thanks for the know-how! So I have 2 questions for you!!! I asked a while back but know I know why you couldn't answer!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of vinyl machine do you have? I am looking to upgrade from my small silhouette and would love some info from someone who knows....I have no idea where to start with bigger machines!
What is the font on your blog title that says "taking one day at a time". I love it and I must have it!!! :)
Thanks girl...love your blog!!!!
Shelley! you need FB and Twitter buttons on your posts! I wanted to share this because it's such a pet peeve of mine!
ReplyDeleteThe weirdest thing is.. MOST bloggers have NO idea that they are no-reply. I hope you have luck spreading the word!
I will go to FB right now to share this from your profile (I hope)
gail
Checked and done!!
ReplyDeleteHi I just found your blog and so glad that I did. I am looking forward to perusing and reading your past post. I am now an official follower, Happy Weekend,Kathysue
ReplyDeleteLOVE this tutorial! Mind if I share it on my blog and point people here?
ReplyDeleteCarmen and the Primcats
Thanks, I changed my blogger profile so my email shows. I thought it already did. :/ I hope you have time to email me about which font you used for your cute Simplify sign. I would love to use that font for the a flier I need to make for my YW's class...
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad you posted this. I did a similar post a couple of months ago. I wish more bloggers would post their frustration with this issue! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this. I am computer illiterate, so I really appreciate it :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know if my profile is set this way or not, but I will definitely be checking it & changing it if need be! Thanks for this information! Starting to get addicted to this blog! Love your posts!
ReplyDeleteThank you SOOO much for posting this! The dreaded noreply-comment blogger drives me crazy too! :)
ReplyDeleteAmen Sista!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started blogging I had no idea that this even existed so I was replying to everything thinking that they all got my replies.....nope, someone out in never never land did! :) Thanks for posting!!
ReplyDeletedone and done.
ReplyDelete:-)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I did it. Sorry 'bout that- I'm still kinda technically challenged. Now can u tell me what font your "Simplify" was done in? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS! Do you mind if I put this tutorial on my blog! Of course, I will link back to you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this!...I just linked to your post on my blog so folks will know what to do. I don't receive too many comments as of yet, but I do like to acknowledge folks when they take the time to comment and most don't have that box checked!
ReplyDeleteDone!:) I love your blog btw. Your pantry is a glimpse of heaven .... man I wouldl love to have a pantry like that, your bathroom ... your entire house is impressive! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOK, so I think mine's fixed now (since you got all bossy about it...ha!), but the WEIRD thing is that I've gotten email responses to comments before. Maybe blogger doesn't want you and me to be friends.
ReplyDeleteFabulous!! Love your blog ;) Found you via 30days... :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this. I have the same problem!! I just posted a link to this post on blog today! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!! It's the worst when you go to reply to someone's awesome comment and you have no way to contact them.
ReplyDeleteOkay..I admit it. It was me in the example above and I can only plead the 5th as I graduated in the late 80's and my big hair got in the way of me becoming computer literate.
ReplyDeleteI am actually attempting to start a blog of our remodel and I have bloggers block because it's all so freakishly intimidating. My 8 year old could probably figure it out faster than me.
Anyway...you rock for answering everyone's posts! That is so time-consuming. I think I would be tempted to have an automatic reply that said, 'You are my favorite responder EVER and thank you SO much for coming to my page, I LOVE YOU!" With all the love, no one would ever notice nothing personal was ever said.
Yep, that's what I would do. If I could figure out the blasted thing. (Maybe the mushrooms got to my brain...)
Anyway...I fixed the issue and now I know if I'm feeling lonely I can post on your blog and someone will answer....
;)
Fixed mine!
ReplyDeleteHa! Shel, I am so glad you posted about this...it's been on my list of things to post about forever and ever!!!
ReplyDeleteMiss you!
It drives me absolutely CRAZY when people don't do this! Thanks for posting for those who didn't know. Also, glad you addressed the mold issue(I'm reading these posts backwards, as i fell a bit behind). Hope you had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI did this just for you. I didn't realize I didn't have that little box checked. I have been working on my blog for so long and now have about a months supply of blog posts with pictures ready for when I am finally able to post... Now I just have to figure out all the design aspects. Do you pay someone to design yours or do you brave it yourself? If you pay someone, would you like to pass their info on to me?
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch lady, I hardly ever comment but I do read your blog daily. :)
Sheena
Cool! I'm new to posting comments and didn't know about the little box...how do I get to my blogger dashboard (?)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this tip. Now you can tell me if you ever decided on a sofa. I commented on your oh so cute and clever "so-farustrating" post. I was wondering if you ever decided or purchased something. By the way, I finally decided and ordered mine today. I got the Jan issue of Pottery Barn which showed the PB Comfort poly fill sofa on sale for $799 and came with a 10% off coupon. It's worth a look but I think you wanted a sectional how about two sofas? (still cheaper than the sectional if your space allows-hope you got the coupon)
ReplyDeleteOkay I have a question. I have the opposite problem. How do people e-mail me so easily when I leave a comment. If I want to e-mail someone I go to their blog then go to their profile information. Click on the e-mail, copy, open my e-mail account, write the e-mail and send. I knew there had to be a quicker way!
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned getting all comments in your e-mail that you reply too? How do you get comments in your e-mail? Help...I would reply more through e-mail if it was easier.
Thank you so much for posting this! I would love to share this on my blog because it drives me crazy. Half the time I am halfway through a witty ;-) email and see the noreply blogger...grrr! So if you don't mind I would love to repost this on my blog and I will definitely link back to you! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I had no idea. I am a brand new blogger and fairly new to following blogs so I love learning something new.
ReplyDeleteI wish that everyone would do this...seriously so fun to exchange emails! =)
ReplyDeletePS Love your blog, I found you through Vanessa...totally put a little shout out on my blog today for everyone to come and check how awesome you are.
Hey just wanted to say THANKS for posting this. I have to admit I had no idea that I didn't have mine available.
ReplyDelete:)
Teri
directing my followers here to this tutorial after a week of having 99% of the comments roll through my inbox and UNABLE to respond to them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this. I just came over from Brassy Apple. I am setting up my first blog and have nno idea what I am doing. At least I will get this part right.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen
Thank you.... I had NO idea....
ReplyDeleteI too am "over it" and I hope you don't mind that I used your post as my tutorial! :)! Thanks so much for posting this!
ReplyDeletefirst time here from twitter, but completely agree & love that you posted this! thank you!
ReplyDeleteBIG lurker here! love your blog - thanks for this tutorial!
ReplyDeleteAmen and amen! Drives me crazy not being able to reply to them.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant post - it is so frustrating to hunt down emails for people you really need to reply too or those you want to be friendly too.
ReplyDeleteThanks to this post, I fixed mine. :) I misunderstood what that little "button" was for and thought it would put my e-mail on my main blog page... which I don't really want, for all the crazies out there. But, now that I know, I fixed it. So yes, those of you who have been longing to be my new bloggy bff's, but just couldn't contact me to let me know... Now you can! ... hmmm. Still waiting! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog!! I obsess over it! I hope you don't mind, but I totally copied this and shared with my blogger friends on my blog (kevinandgillian.blogspot.com) I gave you credit, and hopefully it will just spread the word around to other bloggers! This has driven me nuts too, but I am glad I read this and figured out to put into words how to fix the problem :)
ReplyDeletei recently created a button and began a bloggy revolution about this very thing! come see and link up this post...if you want to be entered to win something PINK!

Thanks for the suggestion, but what if I don't blog in Blogger? My blog is on wordpress. I'd be interested to know if this poses a problem.
ReplyDeleteI wish that was the only reason I don't get replies at times. Some people don't reply b/c they are either rude or they get too many comments.
ReplyDeleteI've left specific questions about items and never hear a word back, and I've had my email address listed since I started my blog. But thanks for the suggestion :)
Great tip, I have been trying to build my blog readers and I think that this has hindered me. I leave comments all the time and rarely hear replys. BTW we painted our entrya nd living room cyprus grass last fall, and now they have discontinued it :( so sad. thanks for sharing the tip.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that I was one of these people until a person told me early last month. I was so glad to know and changed it right quick. Now I find myself not being able to converse with the people who still haven't altered the situation.
ReplyDeleteThank you I am going to share this on my blog!
ReplyDeletePenny
Thank you for sharing that info! mine is now fixed
ReplyDeleteAwesome tip! I didn't have that email box checked, yet I think I have gotten a few replies, but even more awesome I was able to switch it to my blog email address. I was actually wondering how to do that! THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteO.K. so on the other side of this, as a blogger how do you moderateyour comments to your inbox?
ReplyDeleteThanks for this super clear instructions post! Sometimes I write a whole reply & SEND emails to the no-reply-blogger =( Would it be ok for me to link to this post in my comments box?
ReplyDelete-caroline @ c.w.frosting
Ok, I fixed it (I think!)
ReplyDelete:) Thank you!
ah, thanks. I appreciate you bringing this up. resolved and I'll link back to you in a few days when I mention it over at "my" place ;)
ReplyDeleteHmmm I've switched to the G+ profile and am clueless if/how my settings are now. I wonder if I should just switch back.
ReplyDeleteOMG Thanks !!! Hopefully I have fixed mine now. I am linking back to you and mentioning this over at my place
ReplyDeleteKelley
i hope you don't mind that i linked to this post today.
ReplyDelete{but . . . if you do mind, you'll be able to notify me via email!}
Great tip, thanks! I see someone previously commented about using wordpress but I'm still in the dark. I also use wordpress and I've checked the privacy settings but they're different to blogger. Have you found an answer to this question yet? Samantha (sammyjane_21@yahoo.com)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I did this months ago, but it doesn't seem to be working. I just checked again and I have all the right things checked? Boo...Hoping it will change!! LOVE your blog!
ReplyDeleteShelley, PLEASE HELP ME! I created a Google+ page and linked it to my blog a few weeks ago. All of a sudden, this week I'm a no reply commenter! Do you have any idea how to fix this issue in Google+? I googled a solution, and others were saying that I must no longer link my Google+ page to my blog--I have to revert back to my old blogger profile. I hate to do that! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)
ReplyDeletewonderful put up, very informative. I'm wondering why the other experts of this sector don't realize this.
ReplyDeleteYou should proceed your writing. I am confident, you have a
huge readers' base already!
